In 2022, The Vandalia-Butler Foundation, primarily through its VISIONS Endowment Fund, awarded a record $35,873 in educational grants and will fund $22,500 in future commitments for innovative classroom initiatives in the Vandalia-Butler City Schools. This year’s grants support nearly a dozen projects, including $10,000 worth of equipment for an inclusive and accessible playground at Demmitt Elementary School — our largest single grant ever awarded — technology upgrades for the Planetarium at Smith Middle School, and books as student rewards in a vending machine that dispenses literacy instead of snacks.
Congratulations to our community’s teachers and students! Special thanks to the Vandalia Butler Alumni Nation for joining us in supporting our youth.
Since 2002, nearly $214,000 has been granted or committed to support learning opportunities for students in the district.
