The Vandalia-Butler Foundation awarded $42,850 in scholarships to 28 outstanding graduating seniors at Senior Awards Night, a joyous celebration of their academic achievements.

Co-president Candice Farst, education committee member Sharon Gitman and guidance counselor Mark Peck presented the awards on behalf of the foundation. More than a dozen volunteer judges from the community helped evaluate the applications.

The scholarships were awarded out of the foundation’s long-term funds, of which most act as endowments. These funds will continue to support the educational dreams of Butler High School’s graduating seniors for generations to come. Any individual, organization or business can contribute to these endowment funds or set up new ones.
