Thanks to the generous support of businesses, families and individuals, the Vandalia-Butler Foundation’s family of funds grew to nearly $9.3 million — a 14.8 percent increase — last fiscal year, according to the foundation’s newly released annual report.

“We are humbled by the trust you place in us to steward these resources, and we remain dedicated to using them to create lasting impact and drive progress for our community,” wrote co-chairs Denise Eder and Julie Trick in a letter to the community.

The highlights:

  • The Foundation awarded a record $65,375 in 35 scholarships to graduating seniors.
  • Teachers received $31,314 in new educational grants for innovative classroom ideas.
  • Nonprofit organizations in the community attained $5,600 in discretionary grants.
  • Crossroads Coins secured $1,500 through the Small Business Opportunity Fund.
