Need a grant for a worthy cause, marketing strategy for your small business or an innovative classroom project? The Vandalia-Butler Foundation is now accepting grant applications in three categories.

Discretionary Grants
From Vandalia Youth Theatre productions to the annual Oktoberfest to pre-game meals for the marching band during football season, the Vandalia-Butler Foundation supports worthy causes in the community through discretionary grants.

Small Business Opportunity Funding
In addition, the Foundation awards an annual $1,500 grant through its Small Business Opportunity Fund to a local business for technology enhancements, professional development, marketing or other initiatives that will spur growth.

The fund was established in 2015 in memory of Ron Gearhart, a longtime school board member, real estate broker and consultant, to offer financial assistance to small businesses in Vandalia and Butler Township. VISIONS and Educational Grants
We are also accepting applications for VISIONS and other educational grants for engaging, innovative learning opportunities for students in the Vandalia-Butler City Schools. Last year, we awarded a record $36,940 in grants. Apply online here. The deadline is Dec. 7, with preference given to applications received by Nov. 1.

The Vandalia-Butler Foundation and its funds are components of The Dayton Foundation. Leadership for the Vandalia-Butler Foundation rests in our own community, while fiscal oversight of our funds is maintained by The Dayton Foundation, which serves the Dayton/Miami Valley area. This partnership allows for the Vandalia-Butler community to benefit from local leadership and profit from resources pooled with others for investment growth.
