The Vandalia-Butler Alumni Association (VBAA) is investing in the future of its alumni with a generous $1,541 gift to foster student success in the Vandalia-Butler City Schools.
Thanks to the gift, Butler High School cooking classes will benefit from new cookware and its resource classrooms will receive flexible seating, lights and exercise balls. Demmitt Elementary School will receive new children’s books that illustrate differences, inclusion and acceptance. In addition, VBAA is helping to support the annual senior photo display that graces the lawn of the high school.
“The Vandalia-Butler Alumni Association is proud to announce its recent donation to VISIONS, a local initiative dedicated to supporting educational projects for Vandalia-Butler students of all ages,” said Amy DeCamp, president of the Vandalia-Butler Alumni Association and a 1983 graduate. “By supporting VISIONS, the VBAA is helping to ensure that students have access to innovative learning opportunities and resources that will prepare them for success in their academic and personal endeavors.”
In all, the Vandalia-Butler Foundation awarded a record-breaking $31,314 in educational grants in 2025 for innovative classroom initiatives in the Vandalia-Butler City Schools.
For those wishing to make a contribution to the VISIONS Fund, tax-deductible donations can be mailed to VISIONS Fund, c/o The Dayton Foundation, 1401 S. Main St., Suite 100, Dayton, OH 45409-2600. To make an online donation, visit vandalia-butlerfoundation.org/visions.
